"Where is new music heading? What are the new currents and the latest sounds? Who are the creators of tomorrow - and how are they working? What binds the vast array of styles and approaches to creating music today? What pushes them apart?"

iF does not have the answers - but is asking all these questions in its innovative and distinctive approach to promoting new music. As well as presenting concerts - all of which are entirely created and curated by the festival - it is nurturing opportunities and networks for the creators of new music via its imaginative Music Orbit (mO).

The iF-festival started out as The Isleworth Festival in 1996
exploring ways of presenting a mixed programme round a core of new/experimental music. Growing from its base in West London the festival has built up a regular eclectic programme, developing new music and ways of creating and performing, working with some of the best artists and ensembles of today, and in a wide range of venues across London.

Nick Giles left the iF festival as Executive Director and Trustee at the end of August following more than 8 years association with the event, 3 as a Director. He said 'It has been an extremely exciting to be part of the festival over recent years, and particularly rewarding to see our plans to take the event into new territory, and establish it as a new music event for London, bear fruit. I wish iF all the very best for the future and look forward to seeing it continue to grow in the coming years'.
